Students Produce Educational
Animation Okaloosa County
schools are filled with bright and talented students. Carly Racer
and Angela White of the CHOICE Program Creative Arts Institute are
just two examples! In partnership with the Supervisor of Elections
office, the students produced an animation to accompany the “Calling
All Kids” theme song featuring Will U. Vote. The animation is
available for use as a sing-a-long activity for elementary students.
Carly, Angela and creative arts
teacher Jill Frakes were presented with certificates of appreciation
during the debut of the animation.

It Takes a Team: Election 2008
Vote for Your Future Newspaper Tabloid
A team that included the Okaloosa
County Supervisor of Elections office, the Northwest Florida Daily
News, Newspapers in Education, the Choctaw High School Smoke Signals
newspaper staff and the Emerald Coast Association of Realtors worked
together to produce a comprehensive election newspaper tabloid for
students K-12.
Smoke Signals staff members Tia
Thigpen and Megan Whitehurst developed the activities and designed
the pages under the supervision of advisor Linda Evanchky. Each
student in the Okaloosa County Public School District received a
copy of the “Election 2008: Vote for Your Future”. The booklet
features a host of election-related activities and information.
